Lahore 21st March, 2013: The Pakistan Cricket Board in collaboration with Faysal Bank announced the launch of the Faysal Bank T-20 Super 8 at a press conference in a local five-star hotel. The three year partnership between PCB and Faysal Bank has set a precedent which has gone a long way in uplifting the standard of domestic cricket in the country.

The tournament will be held from 26th March to 31st March, 2013, in Lahore. There will be a total of 15 matches and the matches will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. A total of eight teams will be participating in the event divided into two groups as follows:

Group A: Lahore Lions, Sialkot Stallions, Multan Tigers, Abbottabad Falcons

Group B: Faisalabad Wolves, Bahawalpur Stags, Rawalpindi Rams, Karachi Dolphins

Three-matches-a-day from the thrill-packed event featuring the topmost cricketing talent in the country shall be telecast live by Geo Super starting at 12:00pm, 4:00pm, and 8:00pm respectively. The first and second semi-final will be held on 30th March, 2013, followed by the final on 31st March, 2013. The opening match will be played between Faisalabad Wolves vs Bahawalpur Stags. Faysal Bank will be awarding the winning team Rs 2.5 million as prize money and Rs. 1 million for the runners up.

“Faysal Bank Twenty20 Super8 National Tournament 2013 is an important tournament in the domestic calendar for which the Faysal Bank’s support is vital in ensuring high standards. The PCB is committed to continuously improve the standard and competitiveness of its T-20 cricket, to bring it at par with the other cricketing nations. I am positive that people living in Lahore will enjoy the presence of the national stars and the razzmatazz of the T20 format. The support of the Faysal Bank has been of critical importance in ensuring that the event not just maintains but improves upon the standard displayed in the last edition, attracting big audiences filling the stadium”.
