Faisalabad Wolves vs Bahawalpur Stags



Wolves took out Stags in their first game, winning by 63 runs.

Wolves’ opener Farrukh Shehzad gave the team an aggressive start by scoring a boundary of the very first delivery of the game. he was almost unstoppable. He scored a total of 30 runs from 20 balls before he was caught behind the wicket. He took the help of six boundaries to reach this total. Ali Waqas couldnot continue the tempo that was set by his departed fellow. Asif Ali on the other hand was in great touch as he got 34 off 25 balls to help the total of the Wolves. Asif and Waqas joined hands for a partnership of 39 runs.
Wolves found hard to find runs and their total was just 100 runs as they closed in the 15th over mark. Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and the prodigy Khurram Shehzad played aggressively to get this total to 154, not a big one, but competitive enough. Misbah scored 22 off 20 and Khurram made 19 off 12 balls.
The Stags struggled to get their chase under way as they would’ve liked. They lost two wickets off the first two deliveries of their innings. All the other batsmen failed to rescue the team as the lost their wickets in quick successions.
Wolves were now in a strong position and they did not allow Stags any freedom. Hammad Tariq and Moinuddin tried all they knew to get their team back in but could not withstand the knock out blows of the Wolves bowling attack. Hammad and Moinuddin scored 28 and 15 respectively. They managed to score 91 runs losing 8 wickets and playing all 20 overs.
